Ribbon Cutting: Learn More Center

Grow Wabash County and Learn More Center are thrilled to invite the Wabash County community to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 25 to celebrate the grand opening of Wabash’s Adult Education Center.

“This center has been a long time coming, and we could not be more excited to finally see it come to life,” Tenille Zartman, president and CEO of Grow Wabash County, said. “We are incredibly grateful for the industry partners, government leaders, and dedicated individuals who helped make this vision a reality. Workforce development is critical to the long-term vitality of Wabash County, and this new Adult Education Center reflects our community’s shared commitment to that goal. We’re especially thankful to the Learn More Center for picking up the torch and providing a home where so many partners can now co-locate and deliver meaningful education and training opportunities to adult learners across the county.”

This new facility will boast flexible classroom space in addition to both a health care lab and two advanced manufacturing labs, aligning with the greatest training needs shared by major employers in the community. The space will hold classes facilitated by Learn More Center, Freedom Academy and other educational partners such as Ivy Tech Community College, Purdue MEP, etc.

"We are blessed by all the support, donations, and sound advice that allowed us to reach this exciting time,” Cynthia Johnson, executive director of Learn More Center, said. “Our community has worked for years to build an adult lifelong learning hub and now we are here. We are humbled and grateful. We have a place for adult learners to learn throughout their lifetime. This is an ongoing investment in Wabash County and our Region's workforce. We have started, but we are not done. We thank all for their support and their continued support." 

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be on Thursday, September 25, at 1 p.m., at the Adult Education Center, 1100 Cass Street in Wabash. Following the ceremony, guests are invited to explore the new facility and learn how they can play an active role in supporting adult education in Wabash County.
